US Firm Accuses Afghan Subcontractor Of Violence

Law360, New York (August 15, 2011, 5:40 PM EDT) -- Kabul, Afghanistan-based subcontractor Shams Group International was sued in Michigan on Monday by a U.S.-based contractor that accused it of quitting its work on an Afghan base, squatting on the base, and assaulting and threatening to kidnap the contractor's employees.

Lakeshore Engineering Services Inc.'s complaint seeks to compel Shams to arbitrate the contract dispute.
