Film Producer Harassed Assistant Off-Screen, Jury Hears

Law360, Los Angeles (August 15, 2011, 10:36 PM EDT) -- The former personal assistant of Hollywood film producer Jon Peters admitted under cross-examination Monday in California that Peters’ sexual advances occurred off-screen, denying that she said in earlier testimony that witnesses saw the harassment.

Shelly Morita, who has testified that Peters grabbed her breasts 30 to 50 times, told a jury she didn’t know whether anyone had seen the touching. But Peters’ attorney John Gatti of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP read back a deposition transcript in which she described two people witnessing the contact....
