MGA Sanctions Unlikely In O'Melveny Bratz Fee Row

Law360, Los Angeles (August 16, 2011, 8:33 PM EDT) -- A California judge indicated Tuesday she wouldn't sanction MGA Entertainment Inc. for not sharing documents with O'Melveny & Myers LLP, which claims the toy maker hasn't paid a $10.2 million legal bill for its epic trade secrets battle with Mattel Inc.

Judge Elizabeth Allen White told attorneys on both sides that she tentatively ruled to deny O'Melveny's motion for sanctions without prejudice because the firm failed to adequately argue a claim for issue preclusion or monetary sanctions against MGA.
