Girl Scouts Hit With OT, Travel Time Class Action

Law360, New York (August 17, 2011, 6:30 PM EDT) -- A former sales employee of the Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles on Tuesday lodged a class action in California state court, claiming the youth organization didn't pay her for overtime and travel time, and retaliated against her complaints by firing her.

Mary Wakefield's suit, filed on behalf of a class that could include up to 300 full-time, part-time, on-call and seasonal employees, says the Girl Scouts failed to pay for overtime and for time spent traveling to organization events, a violation of California labor laws....
