British Airways Settles With Passenger Over DVT

Law360, New York (June 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- British Airways PLC and a passenger who suffered a deep vein thrombosis have reached the largest settlement yet won for that type of illness.

The settlement, approved on June 7, consists of "nearly six figures," according to the plaintiff's lawyer.

A deep vein thrombosis is thought to become more likely during periods of prolonged immobility, like intercontinental flights.
