NCAA Investigating U. Of Miami Ties To Ponzi Schemer

Law360, New York (August 17, 2011, 5:33 PM EDT) -- The NCAA has been looking into the depth of the relationship between the University of Miami and convicted Ponzi schemer Nevin Shapiro, concerned that the businessman allegedly used some of his $930 million in ill-gotten gains to contribute booster funds to the school. 

NCAA President Mark Emmert announced on Wednesday that the league has been investigating the alleged relationship for the past five months for any signs of impropriety.
