Suit Over De Niro Flop Sent To Arbitration

Law360, Los Angeles (August 18, 2011, 5:07 PM EDT) -- A California judge on Thursday ordered independent film production company Mimran Schur Pictures LLC to arbitrate its claim that Millennium Films Inc. and others defrauded it into making a nearly $6 million investment in the 2010 Robert De Niro flop “Stone.”

“I’m granting the motion to compel arbitration and staying the action,” Judge Kenneth Freeman told an attorney for Mimran Schur on Thursday, putting the case on hold for 180 days and sending it to an Independent Film & Television Alliance arbitrator for resolution.
