Louboutin, YSL Trademark Fight Paused For Appeal

Law360, New York (August 19, 2011, 4:02 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Friday held off on potentially canceling Christian Louboutin SA's trademark for red-soled shoes while the Second Circuit decides whether to bar rival Yves Saint Laurent America Inc. from selling similar heels.

U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero had planned to consider canceling the mark, but opted to halt the proceeding while the Second Circuit considers Louboutin's appeal of the refusal to issue a preliminary injunction.
