Apple Exits Eolas Web Patent Case

Law360, New York (August 23, 2011, 9:43 PM EDT) -- Apple Inc. on Monday became the latest company to settle a suit brought by Eolas Technologies Inc. in Texas federal court over patents covering interactive website technology.

The parties filed a joint motion on Thursday to dismiss all claims against Apple and all counterclaims against Eolas with prejudice. Each party agreed to pay its own attorneys' fees.

Eolas filed the suit in October 2009, accusing a slew of companies of infringing U.S. Patent Numbers 5,838,906 and 7,599,985, which cover technology that enables web browsers to host...
