'Scarface' Producer Says Investor Can't Force Arbitration

Law360, New York (August 23, 2011, 1:45 PM EDT) -- The producer of Hollywood films “Scarface” and “Dog Day Afternoon” said Monday that an investor could not force him to personally arbitrate allegations that he failed to move forward with film projects as mandated by an investment agreement.

Martin Bregman said in a petition filed in New York state court that investor and prominent jeweler Jacob Arabov had no basis to include Bregman in an arbitration proceeding against Bregman's production company, saying a clause in their investment contract keeps the producer himself out of harm's way....
