GSK Faces More Headaches Over Avandia

Law360, New York (June 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- GlaxoSmithKline PLC continues to face trouble after its diabetes drug, Avandia, was reported to increase the risk of heart attacks in patients. Another lawsuit was filed Monday, this time by a shareholder.

In the lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Leon D. Borochoff alleges that GSK never adequately disclosed that it had conducted a pool or meta-analysis showing that Avandia could increase the risk of heart attacks in users.
