Yoplait Buyers Slam General Mills' Bid To Derail Class

Law360, Los Angeles (August 23, 2011, 7:03 PM EDT) -- A class of Yoplait-brand yogurt consumers on Monday scoffed at General Mills Inc.'s decertification bid in a lawsuit over advertised claims about the yogurt's digestive health benefits, arguing that a U.S. Supreme Court decision tightening class certification guidelines didn't apply to their suit.

Yoplait YoPlus consumers claim in an opposition brief filed in California that class members still have a common claim against General Mills that is sufficient to survive the high court's June ruling in Wal-Mart Stores Inc. v. Dukes.
