Bovis Lend Lease Strikes $2.5M Deal To End OT Action

Law360, New York (August 23, 2011, 9:42 PM EDT) -- Bovis Lend Lease Inc. agreed Tuesday to pay $2.53 million to settle a putative class of project engineers and managers' claims that the construction company misclassified them as overtime exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

In a motion filed in New York federal court, the plaintiffs asked the court to preliminarily approve the settlement, saying that it would avoid the expense and uncertainty of litigation and that discovery in the case had advanced far enough that the parties could resolve the claims responsibly.
