Appeal Of Hollywood Producers' FCPA Sentences Dropped

Law360, New York (August 24, 2011, 4:34 PM EDT) -- Federal prosecutors on Monday dropped their appeals of six-month prison sentences handed to husband-and-wife Hollywood producers Gerald and Patricia Green, who were convicted of bribing a Thai official for film festival contracts.

The Greens, who allegedly paid the official nearly $2 million for $13.5 million in contracts to produce a Bangkok film festival, were sentenced in August 2010. Prosecutors, who had sought to send the couple to prison for 10 years, had filed dual appeals with the Ninth Circuit, but dropped their petitions without explanation....
