AIG Faces Discovery Sanctions In Workers' Comp Suit

Law360, New York (August 26, 2011, 4:11 PM EDT) -- Two South Carolina businesses asked a federal court Thursday to sanction American International Group Inc. for failing to comply with a discovery order in a putative class action alleging the insurer fraudulently calculated workers' compensation premiums.

The South Carolina federal court should enter an order compelling AIG to adhere to a July 19 order to produce a copy of audits of its 2002-2004 consolidated financial statements, and sanction the insurer for its “willful refusal” to comply with this directive, plaintiffs Temporary Services Inc. and Charleston Steel...
