$2M Fee Award Reaffirmed In Nigeria Air Charter MDL

Law360, Washington (August 26, 2011, 1:52 PM EDT) -- A New York federal magistrate judge on Thursday again affirmed her recommendation of a $2 million attorneys' fee award in a contract and fraud multidistrict litigation over canceled airplane tickets between the U.S. and Nigeria, after a Second Circuit remand.

The MDL consists of a number of individual and class actions brought by purchasers of charter flight tickets sold by defendant Ritetime Aviation and Travel Services Inc. for flights between the U.S. and Lagos, Nigeria, which defendant World Airways Inc. discontinued at the end of 2003....
