Anchor Bay Says BF1 Failed To Deliver 4 Films

By Jacqueline Bell (August 29, 2011, 4:44 PM EDT) -- Anchor Bay Entertainment LLC hit BF1 Films LLC with a lawsuit Thursday in California state court, claiming the production company failed to deliver on an agreement to complete several films despite receiving advances of more than $2 million.

Anchor Bay — the home entertainment division of Starz Media LLC — claims it paid nearly $2.38 million in advances directly to BFI in connection with five promised films: "When Calls the Heart," "The Velveteen Rabbit," "Only the River Runs Free," "WarHammer" and "The Preacher's Daughter."

But in the end, BF1 produced only "The Velveteen Rabbit" and failed to deliver on the other...
