Anchor Bay Says BF1 Failed To Deliver 4 Films

Law360, New York (August 29, 2011, 4:44 PM EDT) -- Anchor Bay Entertainment LLC hit BF1 Films LLC with a lawsuit Thursday in California state court, claiming the production company failed to deliver on an agreement to complete several films despite receiving advances of more than $2 million.

Anchor Bay — the home entertainment division of Starz Media LLC — claims it paid nearly $2.38 million in advances directly to BFI in connection with five promised films: "When Calls the Heart," "The Velveteen Rabbit," "Only the River Runs Free," "WarHammer" and "The Preacher's Daughter."
