Terminix Agrees To Pay Trainees $1.5M In OT Settlement

Law360, New York (August 30, 2011, 3:21 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Friday granted final approval of a $1.5 million settlement between Terminix International Inc. and a class of 1,200 termite inspectors in training who alleged the pest control company misclassified them as exempt from overtime pay requirements.

U.S. District Judge Susan Illston signed off on the deal, which resolves the trainees' claims that Terminix failed to pay them overtime, refused to provide them with meal and rest breaks, and did not provide them with proper wage statements.
