'Le Freak' Rights Owner Hits Publisher With Contract Suit

Law360, New York (August 31, 2011, 4:54 PM EDT) -- A company that says it holds royalty rights to the music of Bernard Edwards of disco group Chic, known for hits such as "Le Freak," filed a breach of contract suit Tuesday in California court against the publisher of the band's songs, alleging it has not been paid its due.
