Bruno Mars Asks Court To Void Expired Publishing Contract

Law360, New York (August 31, 2011, 1:21 PM EDT) -- Bruno Mars asked a California court on Monday to declare that the singer-songwriter is free from any obligations to Bug Music Inc. after the publisher failed to exercise its option to continue publishing Mars' music.

Mars, whose real name is Peter Hernandez, says that though he expressly told Bug Music that his publishing contract with the company had expired and that Bug Music needed to exercise its option to keep him on their roster, the publisher has since refused to acknowledge the termination of the agreement....
