Forgent Networks Sues Creo Over JPEG Patent

Law360, New York (December 8, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- Texas-based Forgent Networks has added Canadian imaging technology company Creo, Inc. to the list of defendants in its controversial series of lawsuits claiming patent rights to the JPEG image compression technology.

Forgent’s Compression Labs subsidiary filed the lawsuit against Creo, Inc. and Creo Americas, Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, alleging infringement of United States Patent No. 4,698,672.
