AIG Latest To Seek More Info On BofA's $8.5B MBS Deal

Law360, New York (September 6, 2011, 6:17 PM EDT) -- American International Group Inc. on Friday filed the latest request to intervene in a dispute over Bank of America Corp.'s proposed $8.5 billion settlement with holders of Countrywide Financial Corp. mortgage-backed securities, saying it needed more information to know if the deal was fair.

AIG, which says it holds 97 of the 530 trusts at issue in the settlement, intends to object to the settlement proposed by trustee Bank of New York Mellon Corp. because it does not have sufficient information to evaluate its fairness, according...
