B&N, Alcatel-Lucent Battle Over E-Reader Patents

Law360, New York (September 7, 2011, 7:56 PM EDT) -- Attorneys for Barnes & Noble Inc. and Alcatel-Lucent USA Inc. squared off Wednesday before a New York federal judge over whether the bookseller's website and Nook e-reader infringe a swath of Alcatel-Lucent patents.

Their remarks came during the first day of a claim construction hearing before U.S. District Judge George B. Daniels in which the two sides began explaining their disputes over the wording of certain claims in seven Alcatel-Lucent patents, which the judge must decide before the case can progress to trial.
