Summit Sues Over Unauthorized 'Twilight' Website

Law360, New York (September 7, 2011, 6:22 PM EDT) -- Summit Entertainment LLC, producer and distributor of the popular “Twilight” movies, sued the owner and operator of Twilight.com for trademark infringement Friday in California federal court, saying the website misleads consumers to believe it is sanctioned by the studio.

According to the complaint, defendant Tom Markson of TM Consulting registered Twilight.com in February 1994. The website currently displays a spartan design consisting mostly of links to “Twilight” merchandise sold on Amazon.com.
