FBI Floats General Use For Anti-Piracy Warning Seal

Law360, New York (September 7, 2011, 6:29 PM EDT) -- The FBI on Wednesday proposed allowing members of the general public who hold copyrights to use its anti-piracy warning seal, which is currently only available to major entertainment and software companies.

The agency said in a Federal Register notice that it wants to make an image of the seal — which is most commonly found on CD and DVD covers — available for free download on its website for use on any copyrighted works.
