HTC Expands Apple IP Suits With Patents From Google

Law360, San Diego (September 7, 2011, 10:19 PM EDT) -- Widening its patent infringement campaign against Apple Inc., HTC Corp. on Wednesday asserted nine patents that it had picked up from Google Inc. against Apple's iPhone and other electronic devices, with complaints in Delaware federal court and the U.S. International Trade Commission.

The patents, which were transferred from Mountain View, Calif.-based Google to HTC on Sep. 1, were previously owned by Motorola Inc., Openwave Systems Inc. and Palm Inc., according to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. HTC asserted the patents Wednesday in a new suit...
