Sony TV MDL Settlement Not Fair, 2nd Circ. Hears

Law360, New York (September 9, 2011, 6:11 PM EDT) -- Sony Corp. and a group of plaintiffs acted suspiciously in quickly settling product liability multidistrict litigation over defective high-definition televisions for $7 million, an attorney representing consumers who objected to the settlement told the Second Circuit on Friday.

The plaintiffs who agreed to the settlement "were the ventriloquist's dummy," said Arthur Miller of Milberg LLP, who represents the plaintiffs objecting to the settlement.
