Hamill Hit With Contract Suit Over Jewelry Collection

Law360, New York (September 12, 2011, 6:48 PM EDT) -- A New York jewelry company on Friday sued former world champion figure skater Dorothy Hamill, accusing her of violating an endorsement agreement by contracting with rival and Berkshire Hathaway Inc. subsidiary Helzberg Diamonds.

Shanti Corp., doing business as Vijay Gold Designs, alleges that Hamill and retail jewelry consulting company Robert Metz & Associates shopped around and entered into another endorsement deal with Kansas City, Mo.-based Helzberg while still under contract with Vijay.
