Ad Agency Can’t Block TI’s ‘Akoo’ Clothing Line In IP Row

Law360, New York (September 12, 2011, 3:15 PM EDT) -- An Illinois federal judge on Friday refused to prohibit the manufacture of rapper T.I.’s "Akoo" clothing line, saying ad agency Akoo International Inc. failed to prove in its trademark infringement suit that customers were confused by the similar brand names.

Akoo International filed the suit against T.I., whose legal name is Clifford J. Harris Jr., Akoo LLC and several clothing manufacturers in March 2010.
