TJX Faces More Trouble Over Stolen Credit Data

Law360, New York (June 18, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Consumers in Florida are the latest to file a putative class action against retailer TJX Companies Inc. for what has been described as one of the largest data security breaches ever to occur in the U.S.

The suit, which names as co-defendant credit card processing company Fifth Third Bancorp, is one of nearly a dozen that have been filed across the U.S. since TJX announced on January 17 that more than 45 million customer credit and debit card numbers may have been stolen by computer hackers....
