Ex-Greenburg Atty Gets 6 Years For Overbilling Town

Law360, New York (September 12, 2011, 7:39 PM EDT) -- A former Greenberg Traurig LLP partner was sentenced Monday to six years in prison after pleading guilty to billing a Chicago suburb for legal services that he never provided.

Mark McCombs, 50, pled guilty the same day to a felony charge of theft of government funds over $100,000. Prosecutors said McCombs overbilled Calumet Park, Ill., for millions of dollars and raised his fees to up to $600 an hour without properly notifying the village.
