Dell, RIM Hit With Suit Over Networking Patents

Law360, New York (September 13, 2011, 1:34 PM EDT) -- Dell Inc. and Research in Motion Corp. were sued Monday in Texas by WiAV Networks LLC, which claims the technology giants produced devices that infringe two WiAV patents related to wireless network technology.

The complaint accuses Dell and RIM of selling a range of WiFi enabled devices — including RIM's Blackberry Touch and Dell's Inspiron 14R laptop — that infringed two WiAV patents, U.S. Patent Numbers 6,480,497 and 5,400,338.
