Stock Promoter Gets 16 Months For Broker Bribery

Law360, New York (September 13, 2011, 4:45 PM EDT) -- A stock promoter who bribed brokers to buy up shares in his client Industrial Biotechnology Corp. was sentenced Tuesday in New York to 16 months in prison.

Jonathan Curshen, 47, pled guilty in June 2009 to bribing an undercover FBI agent posing as someone who had access to a stable of corrupt stockbrokers willing to buy up IBOT stock in exchange for kickbacks.
