Law360, New York (September 14, 2011, 12:27 PM EDT) -- The lead singer of Archie Bell & the Drells sued the 1960s R&B group's label Philadelphia International Records in Texas on Friday, alleging it withheld royalties due under the singer's exclusive contract with the company.

Philadelphia International and Gamble-Huff Productions Inc. have paid Archie Bell some of the royalties he is due from the use and sale of his recordings, but diverted other profits for their own use and refused to give the singer an accurate accounting of the revenues from his songs, according to the...
