Ex-GE Execs Oppose Statute Review In Bid-Rigging Case

Law360, New York (September 14, 2011, 8:55 PM EDT) -- Three former GE Capital executives accused of rigging bids for municipal finance contracts asked a New York federal judge Tuesday to deny a request by prosecutors that he reconsider the length of the statute of limitations on some charges they face.

The statute of limitations on wire fraud and conspiracy charges is five years unless the offense "affects a financial institution," in which case the statute of limitations is 10 years.
