Groupon, H&M Hit With Traffic Information Patent Suit

Law360, New York (September 16, 2011, 4:39 PM EDT) -- Groupon Inc., retail clothing giant H&M Co. Inc. and others were hit with a patent suit Tuesday in Texas federal court by Traffic Information LLC, which claims they infringed its digital traffic information system.

Traffic Information has lodged several infringement suits over the same patent, issued in 2002, and has reached settlements with companies including Volvo Cars of North America LLC and Research In Motion Ltd.

In addition to Groupon and H&M, the companies targeted in the new suit are movie-themed social network Flixter, ING Bank...
