Law360 (June 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Aquila Merchant Services Inc. has agreed to a $1 million settlement in a massive antitrust class action alleging natural-gas price manipulation, joining the lawsuit's five other settling companies and bringing the total settlement figure to $11.3 million.
Judge Philip M. Pro of the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada on Thursday granted preliminary approval of the Aquila settlement. The plaintiffs and Aquila reached the settlement agreement on April 27, only a few days before Pro's May 1 order granting preliminary approval to five companies' combined $10.3 million settlement.
