By Ryan Davis (September 22, 2011, 2:13 PM EDT) -- National Football Scouting Inc., which researches colleges football players for many NFL teams, sued sports reporter Rob Rang on Wednesday in Washington federal court alleging he published proprietary, copyrighted information from scouting reports.
The organization's reports about players are trade secrets that belong exclusively to NFS, which provides information to 19 of the NFL's 32 teams, according to the suit.
The suit claims that in a series of news stories and blog posts on CBSSports.com between June 2010 and June of this year, Rang published information from some of NFS' reports. Rang writes for a publishing company called the Sports Xchange...
