Filmmaker Says Cinematographer Stole Brooklyn Footage

Law360, New York (September 22, 2011, 7:55 PM EDT) -- A documentary filmmaker sued her former cinematographer in New York on Tuesday, alleging copyright infringement and breach of contract after the camerawoman allegedly misappropriated footage for a film of her own.

Filmmaker Margot Niederland enlisted the services of cinematographer and fellow filmmaker Amber Tyler Chase and Chase's company, L'Orage Ltd., in 2007 to produce a documentary about the iconic Broken Angel building in the Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn, N.Y., according to the suit.
