J.P. Morgan Claims DataTreasury Altered Patent Filing, As Check-Clearing Suit Gets Underway

Law360 (December 14, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- A small company that is suing J.P. Morgan over patents for check imaging technology altered its patent applications after learning of J.P. Morgan's own check-imaging plans, attorneys for the bank assert in recent court filings.

DataTreasury Corp. “intentionally misled Chase of its true intentions, all the while intending to learn more about Chase's initiatives so as to usurp those ideas as its own," the bank claims in the court filing, according to the Wall Street Journal.
