Wireless Industry Asks President To Veto ITC Ruling

Law360, New York (June 20, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Citing safety concerns and economic harm, a wireless industry trade group requested Wednesday that President George W. Bush veto a federal trade agency ruling which banned the importation of new cell phones containing Qualcomm Inc. chips.

In a letter sent to the President, CTIA said the U.S. International Trade Commission's decision earlier this month to ban new cell phones with the chips would cause damage to the U.S. economy, communications infrastructure and public safety.
