Verizon Rips Apple's Injunction Bid In Samsung IP Fight
Law360, New York (September 26, 2011, 2:11 PM EDT) -- Verizon Wireless on Friday told a California federal court that consumers and the company would be harmed if Apple Inc. is granted an injunction preventing Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd from marketing its allegedly patent-infringing line of 4G-compatible smartphones and tablet computers.
Verizon, which is not a party to Apple’s infringement suit against Samsung, said the injunction would crush its hopes of earing a return on its multibillion-dollar investment in its fourth generation, or 4G, wireless network. The Samsung devices are among the few that operate on 4G networks.
