Sylvania Misrepresented SilverStar Headlights: Suit

Law360, New York (September 26, 2011, 3:11 PM EDT) -- Osram Sylvania Inc. was hit with a putative class action in New Jersey on Thursday claiming it duped consumers into buying the manufacturer's SilverStar headlights through false and misleading advertising and packaging.

Named plaintiff Imran Chaudhri contends that Sylvania and Osram Sylvania Products Inc. represent that the headlights are brighter, provide a wider beam and allow drivers to see farther down the road than standard halogen headlights, but the companies “rigged the process” and have committed consumer fraud.
