Calif. Labor Official Hits ZipRealty With $17M Wage Suit

Law360, New York (September 26, 2011, 8:38 PM EDT) -- California's labor commissioner on Monday sued real estate company ZipRealty Inc. on behalf of hundreds of real estate agents who are allegedly owed more than $17 million in unpaid minimum wages and overtime pay.

“In times like these, enforcement of the minimum wage is critical to maintaining a floor that allows workers to survive,” Labor Commissioner Julie Su said in a statement. “This enforcement is important not just for employees, but for hardworking employers who shouldn't have to compete against law breakers.”
