TSA Erred In Awarding $150M Screening Contract: COFC

Law360, New York (September 27, 2011, 6:20 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Court of Federal Claims ordered the federal Transportation Security Administration to cancel a $150 million contract for screening services at Kansas City International Airport after finding that the procurement process was fatally flawed, according to an opinion unsealed Tuesday.

FirstLine Transportation Security Inc. challenged part of the contract in June after it was awarded to Akal Security Inc. FirstLine claimed that the TSA improperly awarded the contract based solely on price, when the request for proposals said the agency would conduct a best-value analysis,...
