Lady Gaga Sues Over Cosmetics, Jewelry Trademark Bids

Law360, New York (September 27, 2011, 11:10 PM EDT) -- Lady Gaga on Monday sued Excite Worldwide LLC in New York state court, accusing the marketing company of trademark infringement by selling cosmetics and jewelry with her name on them and applying to trademark the items.

Stefani Germanotta, better known as Lady Gaga, said Excite has refused to withdraw its application for a trademark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office despite the agency's advice that the marks cannot be approved without Lady Gaga's consent.
