Pentagon Mismanaged S. Korean Fuel Contracts: Report

Law360, New York (October 3, 2011, 3:31 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Defense mismanaged three contracts and two international agreements for fuel operations in South Korea, costing it more than $700,000, the Pentagon’s inspector general said in a report released last week.

Energy officials at the Defense Logistics Agency made incorrect payments for fuel services, paid contractors for work they didn’t do, and failed to adequately prepare and oversee fuel services contracts, including one valued at $77.6 million, the inspector general said.
