Greek Pol Hits NY Post, News Corp. With Defamation Suit

Law360, New York (October 4, 2011, 1:28 PM EDT) -- The former foreign minister of Greece slapped media giant News Corp. with a defamation suit Friday in New York, claiming a New York Post article falsely depicted him as a wild-spending “shopaholic” at the height of the Greek financial crisis.

Dimitris Droutsas, now a member of the European Parliament, alleges the Post, owned by News Corp. deliberately trashed his reputation in a malicious column by Andrea Peyser published in October 2010.
