Debit Card Provider Recorded Calls Without Consent: Suit

Law360, New York (October 6, 2011, 6:51 PM EDT) -- A California man on Monday launched a proposed class action accusing debit card provider Global Cash Card Inc. of secretly recording confidential phone conversations with its customers.

Los Angeles County resident John Aguilera's lawsuit against Global Cash Card is one of several in California court that accuse companies of invading customers' privacy rights by surreptitiously recording phone calls. Consumers have launched similar proposed class actions against BMW Financial Services NA LLC, Mercury Insurance Co. and United One Equities LLC since August.
